Books and Internet availability for research on the recycling process.
Chart Paper or chalkboard
Activity Plan:
1.Brainstorm with the students different items that can be recycled. List their responses on the chalkboard or chart paper. Responses may be aluminum, paper, plastic, etc.
2.Have the students work independently or in pairs to research an object or material of their choice. They should gather information on the process of recycling their chosen object including where the item goes and what it is remanufactured into. Cost and environmental benefits should be included also.
3.After an appropriate amount of time, have the students present their research findings to the rest of the class.
